THE SHORT VERSION
I spent 8 years running snow cat and helicopter operations on mountains in Alaska.
Got tired of the rain. Tried San Diego with my twin brother -- a Navy helicopter pilot who now does AI for a private jet company. Yeah, we are a normal family.
Could not afford the life I wanted there. Did one more Alaska winter. Then a buddy in Hawaii said his next-door condo was open.
Started a boat club job that turned into a disaster. (That story is coming eventually.) But through that mess, I met a guy who does premium hardwood refinishing. He needed a project manager. I know how to manage crews and heavy equipment. Done.
Now I manage 10 floor installers and carpenters across Oahu. I am up at 4:45, on my motorcycle to Kalihi by 5:45, on job sites by 7.
Then I come home and build software. Not because I am a developer. Because I found an AI that builds things for me, and free tools that let a tradesman ship real products.
Now I want to show people like me -- tradesmen, captains, small business owners -- that you do not need a CS degree. You need a laptop and a lanai.
